Here's how we get started..
1. Free Telephone Consultation (15 minutes)
• A friendly initial conversation to discuss your child’s communication needs
• Opportunity to share concerns and ask questions
• Brief advice and guidance
• Recommendations on whether an assessment is needed and next steps.
2. Initial Assessment
Purpose: To build a full picture of your child’s speech, language, and communication skills.
Includes:
• Detailed case history
• Play-based observation and interaction
• Formal and/or informal assessments
• Discussion with parents/carers
Duration: approximately 60 minutes.
3. Summary Assessment Report
Following the assessment, you will receive a written report including:
• Summary of your child’s strengths and needs
• Clinical impressions/diagnosis (where appropriate)
• Practical recommendations for home and education settings.
4. Individual Therapy Programme
Every child receives a tailored therapy programme, designed specifically for their needs.
This includes:
• Clear, achievable targets
• Structured activities and strategies
• Guidance for parents/carers to support progress at home
• Resources where appropriate.
5. Therapy Sessions
At Peach Tree Speech and Language, sessions are engaging, supportive, and child-led.
What to expect from a therapy session:
• A warm, welcoming, and play-based approach
• Activities tailored to your child’s interests and goals
• A mix of structured tasks and natural interaction
• Modelling and repetition to build skills
• Parent/carer involvement and coaching
• Practical strategies you can use at home
• Regular therapy updates - feedback following each session.
Session length: Typically 30–60 minutes.
Frequency: Weekly or fortnightly depending on need.
6. Progress Reports
To ensure you are fully informed and involved:
• Progress reports summarising development and next steps
• Review of targets and adjustments to the therapy plan
• Reports can also be shared with schools or other professionals (on request).
7. School or Nursery Support
We work closely with educational settings to support consistency and generalisation.
Support may include:
• Observations within the setting
• Collaboration with teachers, SENCOs, and staff
• Individual or group intervention
• Strategy sharing and staff guidance
• Written support plans and recommendations.
8. Ongoing Support
• Advice and strategies for home practice
• Email support between sessions (where appropriate)
• Additional reports or reviews as needed.
